About
Green Light Dance Company is newly established in 2021 by experienced dance artist Suzannah McCreight. This new Belfast-based company will support the professional development of local dance artists while promoting the appreciation of contemporary dance in the wider community.
Having worked as a dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director, dance teacher and college/university lecturer, Suzannah now shares her expertise and passion for dance through this company that will promote her choreography, connect with local independent artists and provide classes to people of all ages and abilities.
Green Light Dance Company is established as a community interest company (CIC) to serve the community through dance.
To see examples and get a flavour of Suzannah's previous choreographic work, see her showreel from a few years ago.
(We hope to have a new one soon!)

NEWS
Dance for wellness
We have been involved with Utility Street men's hostel over the past year offering movement and relaxation classes on a 'Keys to Life' programme. The men found it helpful mostly in learning how to unwind and relax, which is a challenge for many of them. This has been a reminder that both activity and rest are important in movement and general wellness.Looking forward to more involvement with charity Harmoni in delivering this.

Zoom classes
Last year, adult movement exploration classes were held on Tuesday evenings at 8pm - 9pm starting 2nd November. Professional/ advanced-level contemporary dance ran on Thursday mornings. We are looking at how and where to run in person classes and possibly more on zoom. Let us know if interested.
Company Launch!
Having worked in Northern Ireland as an independent artist for over 15 years, Suzannah McCreight launches Green Light Dance Company in October 2021 to help improve the ecology for dance in Northern Ireland whilst providing a platform for her own work. Green Light Dance Company hopes to both ignite and nurture an appreciation for dance in people from all walks of life. Encouraging people to 'go for it' in dance is something that will benefit enthusiasts of all experience levels.

Professional Development with Helen Hall
Freelance dance artist Helen Hall has been creating the new solo project 'Collecting Moments' for initial performances in Belfast and Derry. She will be further developing the work in association with Green Light Dance Company under the mentorship of Suzannah McCreight.
Collaboration with composer Nick Boyle
Continuing a project which began as a commission for Echo Echo Festival 2021, Pianist/composer Nick Boyle with Suzannah McCreight as choreographer/performer are working to complete 'Peregrine' - a series of four solos that are presented on a walking tour. We're looking for venues once Covid restrictions lift.
Expressions of interest
Green Light Dance Company welcomes expressions of interest for possible future projects. We hope to support independent artists at any stage of their development by creating an environment that makes being an artist a little less lonely and lot more fruitful!
Choreographic commission
Suzannah was commissioned to create work for Dance Associate's 'Dance Impact' project, promoting awareness of male mental health. 'Allies' is a trio about brotherhood inspired by events in Ukraine, in collaboration with composer Nick Boyle.
